Geneva Water Hub

Geneva Water Hub (2015, Geneva; 15 staff; genevawaterhub.org)

A joint Project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the University of Geneva working under the motto “Hydropolitics Towards Peace and Security.”  As of 2017, it became a Centre of the University of Geneva.  Water crisis is the highest global risk, but water can be transformed from a source of potential crisis into an instrument of peace by preventing water conflicts at an early stage.  Associated with The Blue Peace Movement (supported by the Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs), the Hub highlights initiatives on water, peace, security and cooperation, and interdisciplinarity (academia, culture, political and diplomatic actions, civil society and the private sector), ranging from the local to the global.
