It “supports clean air efforts in the Mid-Atlantic Region through related sustainability and public health initiatives, using public education, community action, government oversight, and enforcement of environmental laws”. The council was instrumental in bringing the first wind farms to Pennsylvania and started Solarize Philly, which works with the city to make the process of installing solar as easy and affordable as possible. They run three main events, Run for Clean Air (April), Greenfest Philly (September), and Dine Out for the Environment (October) each year to support its mission and educate the public.
