An independent organization that funds democracy-supporting initiatives in regions like the European Neighbourhood, Turkey, and the Western Balkans. It has backed many projects across 18 countries in areas such as the Eastern Partnership, MENA, and Western Balkans, providing grants to promote democratic values, enhance democratic institutions, and boost civic participation. EED aids civil societies, pro-democracy movements, activists, independent media, new or non-registered groups, youth, and individuals.
