The initiative emphasizes the importance of incorporating climate considerations into foreign policy decisions, requiring risk assessment, multilateral commitment, consideration of peace and security implications, and acceleration of domestic action. Diplomatic dialogues, public diplomacy, and external policy instruments are key to advancing this initiative. It hosts the Climate Security Expert Network. It’s a joint effort between the German Federal Foreign Office and adelphi, a Berlin-based think tank.
