It focuses on addressing global security and international cooperation issues, working on solutions to long-standing and emerging challenges in an ever-changing world. Believes that by maintaining rigorous scholarship, being open to new ideas, and promoting intellectual exchange, it can create and spread knowledge to help build a safer world.
As a part of Stanford’s Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, it offers undergraduate and graduate coursework, pre- and postdoctoral fellowships, seminars, events, and other opportunities to encourage dialogue on topics such as nuclear weapons, emerging technologies, and biosecurity.
