As a whole, it aims “to enable producers to improve their livelihoods and communities through Fair Trade”, using a FTO Mark to help identify companies that are committed to Fair Trade, and through self assessments, external verification, and mutual review, are found to be implementing the WFTO standards on wages, the environment, labor and working conditions. The association operates in 5 key regions (the Pacific Rim, Africa, and North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia) and it has more than 70 member countries and it’s made up of 401 organizations.
