The Commission’s countries and members share common values and a commitment to the rule of law, open economies, societies, and democratic principles. While the Commission has traditionally focused on geopolitical trends and challenges, it has recently expanded its scope to examine issues affecting individual countries’ ability to play traditional leadership roles in the international system.
