The “not-for-profit, independent and virtual organization” focuses on “practical strategies and approaches to produce higher real wealth and economic growth with considerably lower resource consumption.” To this end, they aim to “open new frontiers of economic development towards a Performance Economy (or a Functional Service Economy), which focuses on selling performance (services) instead of goods in a circular economy, internalizing all costs (closed loops, cradle to cradle).”
