A global map of biodiversity and other natural services aids decision-making at the global, regional, and national levels. Policymakers and other organizations can use the Nature Map to operationalize conservation and restoration goals by mapping their various opportunities. These tools assist countries in developing comprehensive climate change and biodiversity strategies.

Map Layers:


  • Nature Map Explorer – This geoportal was created to allow users to provide feedback on the Nature Map Initiative’s initial global maps. Includes a collection of global maps intended to aid in planning and designing policies to conserve biodiversity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These maps are based on the most recent scientific information.
