It is dedicated to improving food security and reducing poverty through research into better and more sustainable livestock use. Partners with organizations worldwide to enhance the role of livestock in food security and poverty alleviation, focusing on Africa and Asia. Research conducted through these partnerships helps people in developing countries keep their farm animals healthy and productive, achieve sustainable increases in livestock and farm productivity, find profitable markets for their animal products, and reduce the risk of livestock-related human diseases.
