It’s focus is on the geosphere within the complex System Earth, along with its interacting subcycles and cause-and-effect chains. The GFZ researches important geological and environmental issues and prepares position papers on legislative initiatives. Additionally, they conduct sociological surveys, publish economic literature, and organize conferences, workshops, and lectures. Education and Training are also important to GFZ’s work integrating geological concepts into German society.
