Karen J. Greenberg (Director)

Based at Fordham University School of Law, it provides tools to better understand national security issues, with a special focus on terrorism. It has hosted >80 public events on topics such as drones and targeted killings, surveillance law and policy, the evolving military, cyber security, international terrorism, US-Middle East policy, and conflicts between the executive branch, the courts, and Congress.

  • By the Numbers: ISIS Cases in the United States (June 2015), A comprehensive report on alleged ISIS supporters and their motivations.
  • Case by Case: ISIS Prosecutions in the United States (July 2016) – In collaboration with The New York Times, updating its prior examination and providing new avenues of research and analysis.

Note: Greenberg is author of Rogue Justice: The Making of the Security State (2017). The center’s 16 fellows include John Brennan, director of the CIA under Barack Obama (2013-2017).
