Initiated by the German Agency for International Co-operation (GIZ) – a government agency and is one of three interconnected networks of the “Emerging Market Sustainability Dialogues”.  An alliance of 32 think tanks focused on the sustainability and growth challenges faced by emerging economies.

Its “goal is to shape economic policies with informed, evidence-based recommendations, which are fed into domestic and international reform process such as the G20 Summits, COPs, and BRICS Consultations.“ They offer regular workshops and congresses organized by the different policy initiatives and hosted by the member organizations.

“EPF members decide on topics of common interest by forming Policy Initiatives, in which they jointly work on policy recommendations with relevance to their respective countries and their national and international reform agendas.” The project is “centered on eight policy initiatives:
