The Security and Sustainability Guide

Submit your organization here by filling the below form.
Your submission will be reviewed before it gets published on our site.
Not all fields are necessary, but the more information you provide, the better.

The basic criterion for inclusion in the Guide is an organization that is relevant to the advancement of human security and/or sustainability, and has a stand-alone website. Important projects and programs with a stand-alone website can have their own entry and will be cross-referenced to their parent organization, if that is included in the Guide. Additionally we focus on organizations that have an international perspective, or a local practice that can be replicated internationally.

Please describe briefly the mission, goals and activities of the organization. Length should vary with the size of the organization.

Please, keep in mind the following questions:
  • What they do?
  • Why do they do it?
  • How do they do it?
This can include a bullet pointed list of their projects, programs, and noteworthy publications.
The flagship reports on globally relevant topics can also be submitted separately for our "Notable Reports" section.
If a research center/ project is linked to a university or other organization, mention which in the description. Include relevant Publications/ Projects/ Events links  (depends what makes sense for the org)  Feel free to include links that takes the user to the relevant information on the organization website. Use subheadings to describe programs and projects with bullet pointed lists. If you’d like to ‘highlight’ a specific paper/report etc, that should be included separately, under a ‘Highlight’ heading.
Here an example of medium sized organization: Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI)

What kind of organization are you describing? Think about: What is its legal basis and how is the organization operating?

We generally choose the 'type' that an organization describes itself with on their website. You can select more than one type (e.g. non-profit + research center).

Which parts of the earth/biosphere or geographic regions is the organization's work focused on. If relevant: What is the geographic outlook of the organization?

Which SDGs is the organization working towards?

What subject matters is the organization focused on? Focus on the main topics. Most organizations should not have more than 5 main topics.

How many fellows are engaged with the organization?

What is the annual budget of the organization?

Who is the executive leader of the organization?
