It was established by “national social enterprise support agencies seeking a means to advance social enterprise development globally. ” Their goal is to grow the “global social enterprise movement to accelerate our transition to a new global impact economy.” The inaugural event was held in Edinburgh and it “provided a platform to bring together social enterprise leaders and champions from all continents to collaborate, share best practice and plan future developments.”
