Razan Al Mubarak (Climate Change High-level Champion)

The High-Level Climate Champions, Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin and H.E Razan Al Mubarak collaborate with governments, businesses, and other stakeholders to increase awareness, support climate action plans, highlight benefits, and facilitate dialogue to achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement. They fulfil the role of Champions for COP27 and COP28, working with governments, businesses, investors, cities, regions, and other non-state actors to expedite climate action and deliver on the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Campaigns:

  • Race To Zero – A global campaign with the goal of halving global emissions by 2030 and creating a zero-carbon world. More than 11,000 members have joined, pledging to reduce emissions in accordance with the Paris Agreement. Members must meet scientifically-aligned criteria, and partner initiatives provide support to help them achieve zero emissions.
  • 2030 Breakthroughs – The Breakthrough Agenda aims to make clean technologies and sustainable solutions cost-effective and accessible globally. This involves the commitment of over forty nations, setting ambitious targets as drivers for positive change, and continuously enhancing collaboration to expedite progress.
  • Race To Resilience – A global campaign that aims to accelerate investment and implementation of adaptation solutions. It focuses on prioritizing climate risks vulnerable communities face and enhancing the resilience of four billion people. The campaign strives to engage partner organizations and increase financial support for resilience while supporting non-state actors’ efforts in driving system transformations.
  • Sharm-El-Sheikh Adaptation Agenda – The Sharm-El-Sheikh Adaptation Agenda prioritizes Adaptation Outcomes. These outcomes are specific indicators that can be achieved through effective solutions implemented on a large scale. The agenda establishes global targets for Adaptation Outcomes, emphasising Africa’s commitment to meeting these targets.
