It is a public policy organization advancing Bulgaria’s democratic and free-market ideals. It is an independent, nonpartisan organization that strives to influence public policy and civil society in order to progress the reform process.

Focusing on justice and domestic affairs in particular, it seeks to strengthen institutional and policy capabilities to support a successful European integration process. Additionally, it aims to promote institutional change and the effective implementation of democratic principles in legal and economic procedures. The institute also monitors public opinion as a watchdog for institutional reform.
