Mission: “to be an ethical voice for the needs of future life and to pass on a healthy planet and just societies to our children and grandchildren,” with a focus on identifying and spreading effective, future-just policy solutions. The Council consists of 50 eminent global change-makers from governments, parliaments, civil society, academia, the arts and business. There are 19 full-time and freelance staff. Five programs: Peace and Disarmament, Climate and Energy, Sustainable Ecosystems, Sustainable Economies, and Future Justice. Has recently organized a Future of Cities Forum and a Regional Forum on Oceans and Coasts (May 2014). Publishes bi-monthly WFC Newsletter.
