Institute for Ethics & Emerging Technologies
(2004; Hartford, United States; 3 staff; ieet.org)

The Institute for Ethics & Emerging Technologies “is a technoprogressive think tank that promotes the work of thinkers who examine the social implications of scientific and technological advance, and public policies that distribute the benefits and reduce the risks of technological change.” It believes that  “ideas about how technological progress can increase freedom, happiness, and human flourishing in democratic societies”, with technological progress acting as “a catalyst for positive human development so long as we ensure that technologies are safe and equitably distributed”.
