The Institute at Brown for Environment & Society is a cross-campus center conducting groundbreaking research and building creative solutions to complex 21st-century problems. It “integrates an understanding of the natural world and human societies because environmental stewardship, human rights, and economic well-being are inextricably linked.”  Through harnessing academic excellence from many disciplines it seeks to “both advance fundamental understanding and solve real-world problems.”
