International Institute for Sustainable Labs (2004; Arlington, VA; 11 staff; i2sl.org)

Is a non-profit organization devoted to “the principles of sustainable laboratories and related high-technology facilities, from design to engineering to operation.” It “encourages the development of high-tech facilities that address the rapid pace of science, medicine, research, and development in an ever-changing and dynamic environment by establishing worldwide partnerships and exchanging technical expertise.” In this manner, I²SL hopes to “engage all stakeholders in advancing the safety and sustainability of laboratories and other high-tech facilities globally.”
