The EU agency dealing with the analysis of foreign, security and defense policy issues. Mission: to provide analyses and fora for discussion that can be of use and relevance to the formulation of EU policy, to find a common security culture for the EU, and to enrich the strategic debate. Funded by EU member states according to a GNP-based formula. Sponsors conferences, seminars, and task forces (participation “by invitation only”). Publishes Chaillot Papers, Yearbook, reports, briefs, and alerts. Recent topics: cyber-defense, Arab armies, scenarios for Ukraine, peacebuilding, and global energy security.
