Caballero-Anthony, Mely

Mely Caballero-Anthony (b.NA) is Head of the Centre for Non-Traditional Security Studies and Associate Professor at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and a board member of the university’s Sustainable Earth Committee.  She is Secretary-General of the Consortium of Non-Traditional Security Studies in Asia, and recently served as Chair of the UN Secretary-General’s Advisory Board on Disarmament Matters and Chair of the Board of the UN Institute for Disarmament Research.  She has also served as a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Conflict Prevention.  Among her 18 books, she is the author of Human Security in ASEAN: 20 Years On (2014) and Regional Security in Southeast Asia: Beyond the ASEAN Way (2005), editor of An Introduction to Non-Traditional Security Studies: A Transnational Approach (2015) on the increase in non-military threats, and co-editor of Mapping State and Non-State Actors’ Responses to Nuclear Energy in Southeast Asia (2016), Asia on the Move: Regional Migration and Civil Society (2015), Human Security and Climate Change in Southeast Asia: Managing Risk and Resilience (2013), Non-Traditional Security in Asia: Issues, Challenges, and Framework for Action (2013), Energy and Non-Traditional Security in Asia (2012), and Rethinking Energy Security in Asia (2012).
