Jay Coalson (Executive Director)

Nonprofit using corporate consulting, industry working groups, and research to reduce waste in industry and the community. Operating as a program of the International Sustainable Development Foundation, ZWA has over a twelve year history working with industry and communities to identify and overcome barriers to zero waste. Their slogan is “Creating a Prosperous and Inclusive Future Without Waste.” They concentrate on:

  • efficient materials use,
  • recycling and reuse,
  • emissions reductions
  • changes in housing construction

Studies and programs include:

  • Zero Waste Business Network
  • ResourceFULL Use (business network for reuse of materials)
  • Partnership with Oceans Recovery Alliance on plastics use
  • Zero Waste Districts for recycling and reuse
  • Emissions reduction
