An interdisciplinary research institute is working on cross-disciplinary teams exploring sustainable energy systems from various viewpoints, including engineering, science, and the social sciences. Today, the Institute focuses on strategic clean technologies, electrification and system integration, the built environment, energy-economy-policy modeling, and integrated water-energy-land systems planning. IESVic leads research at the University of Victoria on critical energy challenges, human aspects of energy, education, and training and collaborates with businesses, non-profits, and the government.
