Union of Concerned Scientists

Founded by members of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, it strives to direct scientific research “away from military technologies and toward solving pressing environmental and social problems”. The alliance consists of more than 400,000 citizens, including a collaboration between over 17,000 scientists and technical experts. It promotes rigorous, independent scientific research to solve our planet’s most pressing problems and “empower sustainability everywhere.”
