Global Counterterrorism Forum

Founding Year: 2011

It’s “an informal, a-political, multilateral counterterrorism (CT) platform”, which works to strengthen the “international architecture for addressing 21st century terrorism” by supporting and catalyzing the “implementation of the United Nations (UN) Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy”. It also promotes “a strategic, long-term approach to counter terrorism and the violent extremist ideologies that underpin it.” To achieve this, it develops “good Practices and tools for policy-makers and practitioners” while also providing “a forum for national CT officials and practitioners to meet with their counterparts from different regions.”
