Global Commission on Drug Policy

Founding Year: 2011

Helen Clark (Chair)

It’s made up of “global leaders from the political, economic and cultural arenas” who are aware of the “failure of the current drug control regime” and “felt that they must advocate for drug policies based on scientific evidence, human rights, public health, and security, leaving no-one behind.” They produce “evidence and research-based discussions” with the aim of triggering a global shift spreading across all continents. The Commission encourages positive reform everywhere.
