An international security and defense studies institute was established in 1993 as a bi-national initiative between the United States Department of Defense and Germany’s Federal Ministry of Defence. The center aims to foster dialogue and understanding among North America, Europe, and Eurasia. It conducts various programs to educate, engage, and empower security partners in addressing regional, transnational, and global challenges, involving over 16,000 officials from more than 160 countries. For instance, the Partner Language Training Center Europe (PLTCE), Eurasian Foreign Area Officer Program and the Partnership For Peace Consortium Secretariat.
