GeoHazards International is a non-profit organization working to “end preventable death and suffering from natural disasters.” It “helps communities in which people are highly vulnerable and there is little capacity to mitigate hazards.” Its approach focuses on “building skills and experience among local engineers, scientists, government agencies, universities, and building trades.” GHI’s work targets “school and hospital readiness, improved engineering and construction, and development policies.” It also “educates people on how to safeguard their families and neighborhoods.”
