Generation Waking Up is a “social change organization igniting a generation of young people to bring forth a thriving, just, and sustainable world.” It strives to “awaken in young people a clear sense of who theyare as a generation, an understanding of the urgent global challenges and opportunities they face, and a calling to take action.” Consequently, it provides them with the necessary “support needed to thrive as global citizens, leaders, and change agents in the 21st century.” Thus, GWU “mobilizes young people locally and globally across issues, geography, and lines of difference, unleashing the collaborative power of this generation.”
