The organization sustains the belief that freedom grows stronger in democratic nations where the power is accountable to the people; the rule of law prevails; and freedoms of all kind, as well as respect for the rights of minorities, are protected. Their main work is devoted to counterbalance the threats to democracy and to empower citizens on the exercise of their fundamental rights through a unique combination of analysis, advocacy, and direct support to frontline defenders of freedom, especially those working in authoritarian societies.
