It is the “largest multilateral borrower and lender by volume” providing climate finance and expertise to sustainable investment projects that “help the economy, create jobs, promote equality and improve lives for EU citizens and for people in developing countries.” It offers lending, blending and advising services as well as helping with “administrative and project management capacity which facilitates investment implementation.”
