It uses gravity to regain electricity from lifted blocks, a mechanism comparable to pumped hydro plants. It employs a low-tech but mostly automated solution that uses proven technology to store energy cheaply. EV created “gravity and kinetic energy-based, long-duration energy storage solutions” with the aim of “transforming the world’s approach to delivering reliable and sustainable electricity.”
