A non-profit organization established by the governments of Switzerland and Malta. It strives “to increase the role of small and developing states and to improve global governance and international policy development.” Hence, it strengthens “the meaningful participation of all stakeholders in diplomatic practice and international relations.” In June 2006, it received Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
