The Community Carbon Trees is an organization striving to “counteract deforestation by providing wildlife corridors and habits biodiversity as well as mitigating the effects of climate change in the environment.” ACCT employs “locals in the Costa Rican community to plant and maintain trees” thus offering income for sustainable jobs. It operates on the belief that “empowering the local community in environmental and social transformation stops deforestation and keeps the trees they plant now standing for future generations.”
