It emerged from a collaboration between the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy. The organization focuses on the “promotion of sustainable patterns of consumption and production (SCP)”. To this end, it works along with United Nations’ Member States “towards a more sustainable future, focusing more recently on the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals set out in 2015.”
