It promotes collaboration between various fields that focuses on studying environmental systems and human activities; aiming to inform policymakers and technology regarding solutions to environmental problems. Through its work, it has developed computer models and maps that describe the behavior of Earth’s various ecosystems. It’s based at the University of Wisconsis- Madison.

- Wisconsin Horizontal Interpolation Program for Satellites (WHIPS) – An open-source project that aims to improve the quality of air quality data collected by satellites.
