A voluntary initiative that aims to catalyze “action towards the successful implementation of carbon pricing around the world.” It was founded at COP21 by World Bank & IMF to shift social costs of climate change to pollution sources, and encourage reduced emissions and clean energy investment. It involves 34 governments, 164 private sector partners, and 85 NGOs and civil society organizations.
