It is a a non-profit organization “addressing the need for knowledge dissemination in waste management by bringing the best minds in the world together to build a global waste management community” by “providing educational resources, direct access to experts, and networking”. It also provides consultancy services in knowledge transfer and training, communication and content marketing, networking and community building, conference support, and waste management. The organisation sponsors the annual “Global Dialogue on Waste” (2014 – 2018). The Global Dialogue on Waste, “brings some of the brightest minds in the world together to explore solutions to and through waste” who share essential research and experiences on key themes each year through panel discussion, presentations, social media chats, and articles.

- Pioneers and Changemakers: “Weekly interview series through which changemakers and pioneers in the fields of waste, circular economy, sustainability, and sanitation will provide access to the latest thinking.”
- Waste Pioneers List: Identifies 30 organizations, 30 individuals, universities, and media organizations that are sharing stories about their work and solutions on waste. Publishes three lists each year for the three categories – individuals, organizations and universities, and media.
