Also known as Agence de l’Environnement et de la Maitrise de l’Energie, the organisation “is active in the implementation of public policy in the areas of the environment, energy and sustainable development.” It works under joint supervision of the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, and the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research. Promotes topics like circular economy, ecologic transition, energy transition, and sustainable development. Provides businesses, local governments, public authorities and the general public its expertise and advisory capabilities. Also helps to finance projects, from research to implementation, in areas or waste management, soil conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy, air quality, and “the fight against noise.”
