It provides funding for projects and programs that assist vulnerable communities in developing countries to adapt to climate change. Initiatives are based on the country’s needs, perspectives, and priorities. The Fund is primarily supported by government and private donors, and a 2% share of the proceeds from Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) issued under the Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism projects.
