Indigenous Climate Action

Indigenous Climate Action (2015; Edmonton CAN; 4 staff; https://www.indigenousclimateaction.com/)

This rights and awareness group advocates an indigenous perspective on climate change.

“ICA believes that the leadership of Indigenous peoples, as stewards, caretakers and protectors of the earth, is crucial to achieving a climate stable future for all.”

They create “original content on climate change and Indigenous rights and knowledge – in a language that is accessible at a grassroots level – highlighting how Indigenous knowledge, rights and systems are critically important in developing successful climate change strategies, policies and mitigation and adaptation plans; and inspires and supports communities to take direct climate action.”

They organize gatherings as well as workshops, climate camps and conferences.  Also, they have online gatherings and sharing spaces for digital exchange and cooperation.
