Development Initiatives (1993; Bristol UK, Nairobi, Kampala, Washington; 75 staff; http://devinit.org/)

Focuses on the role of data in poverty eradication and sustainable development. Their goal is to enable decisions that are “underpinned by good quality, transparent, data and evidence on poverty and resources, and lead to increased accountability and sustainable long-term outcomes.” They offer expertise in insightful data visualizations and data storytelling, and host events like forums, meetings, festivals, webinars, etc.  They are largely funded by the Melinda and Bills Gates Foundation and the UN.
